“Xebec” refers to a ship sailing through the Mediterranean. It is symbolic of the zeal and enthusiasm of the students, striving towards excellence in their field. In 2013, the three day festival saw huge participation of students from 43 institutes and universities of Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon in technical, non-technical and green events. There were teams from various colleges like IIT-Delhi, JNU, NSIT, Jamia Millia Islamia, Amity, DTU,MAIT, YMCA, LIMAT, JIIT, GCET, VIPS, AIT, NPTI, JSS etc.

XEBEC is the technical fest organized by the SAE-IGDTUW collegiate club every year. XEBEC is students’ earnest endeavour to showcase the fabric of talent adorned with the tapestry of spirit through a wide range of Technical, innovative and fun filled activities.

The aim of XEBEC is to foster a scientific temperament among the students through different means to cater to all kinds of talents. It ignites the spark of technical competitiveness among students. The vision of students has been to bring science and technology to the masses to inspire them to achieve the unexpected by providing them a platform to showcase their skills.

Broadening its spectrum, XEBEC 2013 saw active sponsors play an indispensable role in materializing the plans and aspirations. Sponsorships from companies like Hero Honda, Ark Technosolutions, World of Wonder etc. had given strong impetus in organizing such a technical fest that aims at the cognitive abilities of the students. The fest included many technical and non-technical events along with off liners. This year we aim to make Xebec bigger and better - METAMORPHOSIS.

About us

IGDTUW

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) formerly Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), was established by the Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of Delhi in the year 1998 as the first women's Engineering College in India. It also has the honour of being the first constituent college of GGSIPU.

The college, located in the University’s Kashmere Gate Campus, was established with the goal of imparting technical education to the women of the country, keeping in view the global technological developments and the requirements of the Indian industry in 21st Century.

The students not only undergo rigorous academics through the 4 year B. Tech program, but also develop managerial and communication skills through seminars, guest lectures, Industrial training and project work. Today with an accomplished faculty of about 40 academicians in different areas of engineering and technology, all with M. Tech. or Ph.D. from reputed institutes and strength of approximately 1000 students, IGDTUW is on a path of achieving academic excellence.
